Gold Beach,
Oregon (population approximately 2,000) is a rural
community located on Oregon's south coast.
It is the county seat for Curry
County. It is located at the mouth of
the Rogue River, 37 miles north of the
Oregon/California border on Highway
101. In addition to containing County and City
offices, the city of Gold Beach includes a hospital, rural shopping,
restaurants, and one of the finest school
systems in Oregon.

The Gold Beach
climate is moderate. The average
temperature from June through August
is 58.3 and from December through
February is 47.7 degrees F. The
average annual rainfall is 60 to 80
inches per year although most of this
occurs during the winter months.
The summer months are mostly dry. Gold Beach is
surrounded by unsurpassed natural beauty. To the west is
the Pacific Ocean. Miles
of breathtaking coastline stretch to the north
and the south. To the east lies an expansive
region of uninhabited timberlands and mountains,
including State lands and the Siskiyou
National Forest.

Population:
Although the population of Gold Beach is
just over 2,000 the immediate
surrounding area substantially increases
that number to about 5,000. The
population of Curry County is
approximately 22,000.
Industry:
Tourism, timber, agriculture, marine,
sport, and commercial fisheries.
